Audi O : A Music Biography

Born in the Mecca of Hip Hop itself, Bronx, NY, Omar, stage name Audi O brings you rap in a way that hasn't been seen since the early 90's. Coming from the same place that birthed some of Hip Hop's giants, including Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie Smalls and 50 Cent, Audi O is on a mission to be remembered as one of Hip Hop's greatest. Without having to limit his creativity and his talent. "If you wake up and for the next few weeks everything you create is lyrical, then so be it." Words from his good friend and mentor, producer Kasim Keto.

With his first full body of work coming out in 2010, "The Interlude", Audi O is preparing himself to embark on a journey to sucess. He has been writing constantly. Spending as much time as he can in the studio recording. Taking advantage of his independence, Audi O runs his own myspace, twitter, and facebook fan page. But the work doesn't stop there. As he is just putting the finishing touches on "The Interlude", he is preparing to start his campaign all over new york city. Finding open mic venues and performing every chance that he gets is just one of the many ways O will begin making noise, and through out it all, he and producer Kasim Keto will begin working on Audi O's second ep, "Broken Passenger".

Music has always been a part of Audi O's life. Since he was 10 years old, O has been writing constantly and at the age of 13 is when the transition from poet to mc took place. Performing in talent shows in his high school, producing his own tracks, and even studying at IAR in New York City, learning more about audio and music, are few of the many things Audi O has done to better himself as an artist, producer and even as a lisetner. Turning 20 this july, it has been a long journey for O so far and the real journey hasn't even begun. "The Interlude" and "Broken Passenger" will highlight everything that has happened in Audi O's life and what is going on currently in his life. Sure Audi O can jump on a record and turn it into a hit without a problem. Without a doubt he can grab the microphone and rock any crowd. But his true talent comes to life when his life experiences and the things hes learned is portrayed through his music. That is when Audi O is at his finest.

Some people choose the streets. Some people choose school. O chose music. There is no plan b.

Hip-Hop & Skinny Jeans

Skinny jeans came back in style in about 2009, and have been a topic of discussion quite often. This old fashion has come back, I believe, starting with the Rockers, Punks, Emo kids, and the "Scene" kids. But Now Hip-Hop artists have taken the fashion into their wardrobe, too. Many people nationwide have stated their opinion on the new skinny jean era:

"Wayne, the hip hop artist with the most current success (he has the Grammy, record sales and Gatorade endorsement to prove it), is really trying to make so that hip hoppers transition from the laissez-faire, 25-year trend of baggy and saggy jeans to the polar opposite: wearing jeans so tight that there’s no possible way you can sag or even put two nickels in your right pocket."

"Skinny jeans were the natural backlash against the baggy movement. It’s really just another attempt at being retro. Have you forgotten how tight pants were in the 70s?"

"Also, many young men in skinny jeans do sag their pants. That’s the standard way young African Americans wear them. So, you have some super tight jeans, belted tightly around some young dudes thighs. And boxers everywhere...Crazy."

"I simply do not understand the whole trend. A guy that can wear tighter jeans than me is seriously a scary thought lol."

"I think that anyone:
-Men
-Women
-Blacks
-Whites
-Asians
Can wear skinny jeans, or anything for that matter.
I am a white straight male and have no shame in admitting I wear skinny jeans. Not only are they skinny— they are what Pac-sun call “Drakes Skinnest”– nearly skin tight pants. They aren’t the most comfortable of jeans, but hey, as long as I feel that I look good? that’s all that matters. Equality is the most important thing on this earth, why can’t people see that?"

"To me skinny jeans are the symbol of the androgynous rebel. Skinny jeans were first worn by guys anyway. Remember at one point it wasn’t even acceptable for women to wear jeans."

"y r ppl tlkin bout dudes wearing skinny jeans ok girls can wear baggy cargos but we cant wear skinny jeans??
All these celeberties wearing skinny jeans and they get all respect but a group called new boyz come out and wear them and now ppl saying it gay and stuff you know what i respect those dudes so all you haters can….
STFU!!"

Celebrities have a huge impact on the average American. Americans see their favorite rappers, rock stars, actors, actresses, ect. wearing certain things without worrying about what people say and therefore, they do the same.

Zoesa aka Z

He goes by the name of Zoesa. Not many his age is on the same level as this young, ambitious artist from South Florida, who recently signed with Ruffion Records. With such an intense work ethnic, who knows what the world has alot in store. Out of all his outstanding qualities, honesty outweighs the others. He is quite vocal on controversial topics & taboo subjects. Many see him as the next big thing out of Florida. “I’m versatile; people will look at me and see that. I’m not your typical southern artist.” Indeed he isn’t, rarely can you find a Florida artist with roots as a battle rapper. He’s done shows at clubs throughout his state & has been featured on various blogs, websites & magazines. “I make music that many can relate to, from the sexy women in the salons to the hustlers making a living on a street corner.” Fans can see and hear more of Z at various places; he has a large internet buzz to match his street fan base. Artists, producers, engineers, and DJs can reach him via email with zmusic@ymail.com. Z is not an artist you have to watch for, he’s one that you can’t miss.

"cNote Tha Lyracist"

Brandon "cNote" Martin is a 19 year old young man who grew up in the 9th ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was then moved to Dallas, Tx by force of the unforgettable Hurricane Katrina. From there he then found himself in a desert town in Nevada where he would then begin pursuing his rapping and music. At the age of 16 he would become well known in this little town for his amazing lyrical skills and unique style. By age 17 he began recording many songs with the older crowd and then started recording solo. 18 he moved down to Atlanta, Ga with his sister to enroll in college and also to help his music ambitions prosper. Although he has about 100 plus songs recorded he has only dropped 1 mixtape to the public called "Sleeping On Me". This mixtape was 21 tracks long and was full of amazing remixes and also some of his very own original songs. He has said he will drop another one soon but it is not for sure if he will.

Carlos Cartel

It’s said that art mirrors life. Deliberate entanglement of perception and reality has always been there in the case of Hip Hop. Naturally, fans have expectations of their MC’s relating to reality. The realness of their music draws them in. However, when it’s to the point where the realness is over stressed, is when it becomes fake and unappealing. That is where Carlos Cartel steps in.
Born Carlos Brown (he's so nice his momma named him twice) in Charles-ton, South Carolina. Ranked the 4th most dangerous city in America those streets formed Carlos Cartel. The second oldest of four children, Carlos Cartel was raised by a single parent mother. Growing up, his mother didn’t want any of her children listening to hip-hop. So it’s no shock that at age 10, Carlos began exhibiting the rebel nature that speaks through all his mu-sic early by defying his mother’s wishes and committing himself to the hip-hop culture. By the age of 11 he was performing songs by other artists like Kriss Kross'. Soon there after, Carlos began to write and perform his own songs. "I use to wait late at night to watch soul train so that I could see the performances and learn how to perform on stage". After his mother mar-ried a man in the navy, the family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. While living in Memphis, Tennessee, Carlos picked up on a fast style of rapping that was pioneered by Three 6 Mafia, Skinny Pimp, and more. Spending
three years in Memphis inspired Carlos to pursue hip-hop as a business, "I remember they use to come up to my high school selling CDs out the trunk of their car". Later his family would move again, this time to Newport News, Virginia. All the while he continued to write rhymes, ready to take his chance at spotlight the first chance he got. He would get that chance. Walking through a mall on a Saturday evening with an old friend, he ran into founder of Cash Money records and artist Baby. He would later invite Carlos to a show after hearing him rap." I was 16 at the time and went to the club. I told the security I was invited to the club by Baby, and they told me I was too young to get in the club".
After waiting across the street for Baby, Carlos fell asleep and woke up to a missed opportunity on pursuing his dreams. Amazingly, 8 months later a family moved into the same apartment complex where Carlos lived. The family consisted of two boys and a father whom grew up with Cash Money owners Baby and Slim. One of the sons was also into rapping. After Carlos put together a CD with the son, it was presented to Baby and Slim. Soon after, Baby invited them to come to shows and had them rapped for him. "Baby would have me and another dude rap for him and Lil Wayne back stage before they performed. They liked it and told us to keep practicing." That small set-back did nothing to stop Carlos Cartel from moving forward and reaching the goal he set for himself when he was 10 years old. "I was on a Greyhound traveling from city to city, rapping for damn near anybody who would listen.” After winning a few rap battles on a radio station in Jacksonville, doors soon began to close on Carlos. He soon lost his ambitions to rap and headed back to the streets. While on the streets, his lifestyle at the time led Carlos to add Cartel to his name. Finding himself back in his home-town Charleston, South Carolina, Carlos decided to give his life long dream one more shot. He dropped the album "Soulja Stories" and his buzz got heavy in the streets. The rest is street history! To date with no manger, no publicity, no major artist co signing him, and no label behind him, Carlos has been featured in over 35 magazines including Ozone magazines, Hoods Mag, and Geechee One Magazine, appeared in over 10 major DVDS across the nation and has recorded with the likes of Lil Boosie, and more. The Ozone Magazine nominee is only at the beginning of his re-birth. Watch him grow as an artist and represent for all those in the streets with dreams just like him.
